Transportation

Getting to Camp

Your child’s camp experience begins the moment they step onto the bus. With that in mind, here’s some information about our bus transportation…

  • Bus transportation is included in your tuition.
  • We pick up at more than 20 different conveniently located neighborhood meeting points. Stops are located in Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Encino, Hidden Hills, Newbury Park, Moorpark, Oak Park, Sherman Oaks, Simi Valley, Studio City, Tarzana, Thousand Oaks, West Hills, Westlake Village and Woodland Hills.
  • We use a professional school bus company for our transportation. All buses are driven by professional school bus drivers and are equipped with seat belts and air conditioning.
  • The bus ride is fun! Our Rider Cup Spirit Challenge is a friendly inter-bus competition that includes singing, bus decorating, and performing with your bus each session.
  • We hire and train our staff to start their day at the bus stop with you and your campers!
  • Each bus’ staff team works together under the supervision of a Bus Captain. All buses have anywhere from 4-8 bus counselors on board. Bus staff are in constant communication with the camp office.
  • To help campers feel prepared for their first day, we offer the opportunity to visit your bus stop and meet your bus staff before every summer.
  • Buses are scheduled to arrive at camp around 9:15 am each morning.
  • Buses are scheduled to depart from camp around 3:45 pm each afternoon.
  • Bus stops and times are listed below.
  • Space is allocated on a first-enrolled, first-reserved basis.

Why Choose the Bus?

We offer bus transportation because we believe the ride itself is a huge part of the camp experience. It’s more than just a means to get to and from camp as it offers meaningful developmental benefits for your camper.

Here’s what the bus ride helps foster:

  • Independence & self-reliance. Research shows that camp helps children become more self-reliant and gives them opportunities to make small decisions on their own.
  • Social connection and belonging. The bus is a micro-community. While each camper’s group is their community at camp, the bus provides an opportunity to meet peers outside of their age group, connect with other counselors, and feel part of something bigger even before arriving at camp. These interactions help them build friendships faster before they arrive at camp.
  • A smooth transition into the camp mindset. While you could bring your camper yourself, the bus ride allows them to fully “arrive” in camp mode—shifting from home to camp in a way that supports their focus, belonging, and readiness to participate.
  • Practicing life skills. In camp research, children benefit when routines are consistent and they have opportunities to practice “life” skills (being on time, engaging with peers, managing transitions). The bus is one of those daily transitions that supports growth.
  • A full, immersive experience. The Kinneret experience starts when campers step on the bus and doesn’t end until they arrive home. We see the bus as an extension of our camp community — one more place where friendships form, laughter grows, and confidence takes root.

In short: The bus experience is worth it. Taking the bus gives your camper an extra layer of support and growth that aligns with the overall camp experience we cultivate at Kinneret.

2026 Bus Stop Locations & Approximate Times

Final routes and times are determined by enrollment and are finalized at the beginning of each session. On rare occasions, stop times may change by approximately 5-25 minutes, a stop location may be moved to a nearby location, assigned to a different bus, or removed if not enough families request it.
