Camper in Training (entering 8th and 9th graders)
Campers entering the 8th and 9th grades in the fall can enroll to be part of our Camper in Training (CIT) Program. In the CIT program, young teens have opportunities to participate in regular camp activities while learning leadership and counseling skills.
CITs have their own counselor, and during the first two weeks of each session they stay together as a group learning and practicing communication skills, how to teach and lead younger campers, and the importance of being a role-model in the camp community.
The second part of each session gives CITs a chance to practice what they've learned. During this phase the CIT is placed in a different group each day and given the opportunity to help the counselor and lead the younger campers. By going into different groups, CITs can observe a variety of counseling styles and practice their own newly learned skills with different age campers.
If you are interested in applying for this program, please fill out the normal camper application. If you are a family that is new to Camp Kinneret, please click here. If you are a family that has previously attended Camp Kinneret, please click here.
If you have any questions, or would like to learn more about this program please call our office today and speak with one of our directors, Harold or Ryan: (818) 706-8255.
